It was the Rockpalast Christmas Special in Düsseldorf, where I went because of Van Morrison, who did one of his best gigs ever there. Everything between Ezio and Van was rather boring, but Ezio was a perfect start for the festival. I loved and love the lightness of the music, which Ezio, Booga and the band always can keep although the songs itself are sometimes "heavy" by length and dynamics. A few years after the Düsseldorf gig an e-mail-friend sent me the Live album which blew me away. Then Krefeld, Bonn and Wuppertal this year. Now I´m addicted ...
Best

My wife and a friend went to a Joan Armatrading gig in Manchester (about 1996) and there was a postcardt advertising Ezio (they were the support band) and you could return the postcard and get a free promo CD, which I did and have been hooked since.
Anyone know of an Ezio gig list and other support bands vice-versa etc? _________________ -----------------

My first Ezio experience? That was shortly after the guys released "Higher". I was working as a journalist, mostly responsible for all the musical events, and my editor send my to write an article about "two guys from England, they're awesome". I had a pretty bad day and didn't actually feel like going and working. But what the hell... I went to Kronesaal in Worms. As soon as Ezio and Booga entered the stage and as soon as they played their first song, I was stunned. How could two guys with two guitars create such an atmosphear???
Anyway, the day after, I ran to the local record store and bought every single Ezio cd I could grab.
Well, I guess, that's pretty much about it. |

Considering you're a "journalist, didn't you know that there is no such punctuation as 3 question marks (???)and the word "atmosfear" doesn't actually exist! :-)

Went to a small theatre in Chichester (Sussex) in '99 to see what I thought was a Spanish recital guitarist...Rodriguez Guitar concerto in Am would've been OK.
Instead I got Sliced and Diced with the "Angel Song" and have never looked back since. Have now slung away the electric guitar and gone acoustic and spend any spare time (joke) attempting to transcribe songs (badly) for the site. |

I had a friend (an amazing lady with a great sense of humour) who had a shop right in front of my flat in Parma (Italy), she says to me one day: I have to lend you this video (EZIO LIVE), it's my son Ezio, who lives in Cambridge. Ok, I thought, let's check it out. grab the video, chuck it in the video... wasn't expecting much: WAS I WRONG !!! I couldn't keep my eyes of it.. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing and what my ears were hearing!
Thanks Luisa... I remember you in my prayers...

In August 2001 I came by chance upon a live version of Angel Song as a MP3 file on some website... I was looking for music by some other band, and I came across this site which had a nice little collection of about 5 songs by several bands, rather punk and goth stuff, the music I was looking for, and the mentioned version of Angel Song, and I immediately loved the song with its furious acoustic guitars.
In the following months I downloaded some more Ezio songs, then bought the "Black boots" CD (and was quite disappointed by the studio version of Angel Song but otherwise liked the album), and yesterday I was at my first Ezio concert in Frankfurt, and it was fantastic. Those two guys are wizards with their guitars.
It was the funniest concert I've been to in years, with Ezio telling his little stories and pope jokes... and the music was great, the crowd was great, everything was great. Of course I bought the live CD. |

My very older older sister Deb took me up to Whitley Bay one very cold Friday in June back in 1990 something??? and the rest is history as they say.
Same as everyone else now, on a quest to convert those less fortunate to not have had the Ezio experience yet!!! |
